LEGO publishes a lot of content on their website and it is updated every day. Designers needed a system for producing content quickly to keep up with the demand. I led the initiative to transition our marketing teams from using Sketch to Figma, with libraries that designers could use to lay out content fast for stakeholder and IP partner approvals.
Packaging files and lifestyle photography could be added to Photoshop or directly to Figma. Those assets could then easily be included in layout. Content modules had customizable properties that could be used to further modify comps. Copywriters, designers and directors could collaborate directly in Figma to expedite production.
I worked with developers and engineers to establish an application that could pull assets directly from figma design files into the CMS, which saved designers from having to export, manually upload and document their work. My Figma plugin, exportable, eventually became part of the application, automatically pulling export settings associated with specific content modules to design files.
